New Zealand Native Bird Silhouette Art

For this art piece, we needed to learn the basics of painting such as tone, blending & brush strokes.

Tone is the way that colours come in different forms such as light to dark. The way to change its form is to add a darker shade to make it darker and a lighter shade for a lighter color. Blending is how more than one colours combine. Brush strokes is the way the paint is applied to the art piece.

We chose a bird that is endemic to New Zealand and researched five facts about them. We chose birds because the New Zealand bird of the year award is going to be announced soon on the 31st of October. We looked through different videos that taught us about the technique used in order to get a nice background.
