RFE Reflection

During the school holidays I have been doing RFE (Reading For Enjoyment) activites. The RFE activites were created to keep the students in LS2 reading during the holidays.

The people who took part would earn a prize when they came backfrom school. SOme of the prizes were book packs, gift cards, rugby game tickets, etc.

There’s also a point status for the people running it so they can keep up with the people who are doing it. There were challenges for everyday except for the weekends so we could catch up with activites we may have missed or need to catch up with. During the holidays, I was able to complete 16 tasks which is a week worth of activites.

I enjoyed doing this holiday challenge because it has helped me to keep my reading on.

LI: To list the similarities and differences as you can between the two texts.

Our task here was to compare the similarities and differences between the same story told from two different perspectives. We read The 3 Pigs and The True story of the 3 pigs. The first text was told from the pig’s perspective and the second story was written from the perspective of the wolf.

Something I found interesting was that both stories were different that it made me think in a different way of both stories.

Who is at Fault?

This week we have been learning about bias. Bias can be objective which means you don’t let your past experiences affect your opinion or subjective which means you let your past experiences affect your opinion. We looked at the same story from different perspectives. A perspective is viewpoint on how you look at the story. After reading and summarising both texts we thought about and talked about the facts to help us make an informed opinion.

Our group found this interesting because everyone had different ideas on who is at fault the pigs or the wolf.

Something I found interesting was how the wolf’s perspective can change how we think of the original story of the three little pigs.
